About This Piece
“Study of Hand Holding Flowers, 06,” is a limited edition print created through a process that moves back and forth between digital and physical drawing and painting tools.
This piece was inspired by a flower painted by the late symbolist painter Gustave Moreau. The use of four flowers is inspired by the painting, “Iris, Tulips, Jonquils, and Crocuses,” (1969) by the late abstract painter Alma Thomas.
The bouquets in this series are designed using a variety of sources including life, historical paintings, video games and AI imaging. The artworks in this series are an exploration of art history, drawing techniques, printmaking and technology.
